Shot on a late, dark night while passing by a roadside motel in Las Vegas, this image captures the fleeting glow of neon signage through a blurred, analog lens. The photograph becomes less about the motel itself and more about the transient, dreamlike experience of travel—moments half-remembered, glimpsed in motion.
Educated at the Art Center College of Design, Kuykendall has long been drawn to the aesthetics of movement and impermanence. His love for documentary and travel photography informs this work, transforming a simple roadside encounter into an atmospheric study of color, memory, and the poetry of passing through.
