Andrew Kuykendall – Hollywood Haze
Shot in Los Angeles, Hollywood Haze blurs the city into a dreamscape of neon and shadow. Kuykendall uses motion and long exposure to dissolve the sharp edges of the street, leaving behind an image that feels closer to painting than to photography. Icy blues and inky blacks dominate the frame, recalling the glow of mid-century neon against night skies.
In the haze, a fragment of 1950s-style typography emerges—HOTEL—flickering like a relic of Hollywood’s golden age. The work oscillates between abstraction and documentation, at once a record of passing through and a meditation on how cities are remembered: as colour, as atmosphere, as fleeting light.
