Carl Bengtsson, one of Sweden’s most prolific photographers, started his career shooting album covers and soon developed into a fashion photographer. In the mid 1980’s he took the international fashion-scene by storm and keeps doing it for a wide range of reputed clients and media: Bergdorf & Goodman, Bulgari, Kenzo, Bloomingdales, Vogue, Tatler, Condé Nast Brides and ELLE just to mention a few.
His pictures are dreamy and daring, showing poetry and sex appeal, pensiveness and a precise eye for what’s new.
To quote Carl Bengtsson: “Hurry slowly. Don’t rush. Photography is all about maturity, it takes a long time to develop a style that identifies you as a photographer.”
