Daniel Månsson: "San Onfree, the classic spot south of San Clemente, an hour from my home. The parking lot was filled with busses, trucks and vans right by the big U.S Marine Camp Pendleton. This spot has been surfed for a long time and some of the best long boarders in the world can be spotted here. Brian Bent, a style icon himself, met me at the parking lot in his 1930’s hotrod.
“No wetsuit?” I asked.
“No, wool is as good,” he said as he put on on his wool shirt, his hat and pulled down his 1930’s style kook box board from the hot rod.
He jumped out on the board, paddled out on his knees in a slow and meditative style. The horizon was sharp as a knife accompanied by two birds, with some morning fog still in the air.
